Intermediate Sewing Class
In the 16 week Intermediate class students learn how to draft a pattern to fit their measurements, create a machine embroidery design and sew it onto their garment, and finally how to use a overlock/coverlock machine to sew the garment together. These skills are important for the next level skills for the textile industry. In the class the student will design and draw out a sketch of their desired garment. They will learn how to measure themselves and then create a pattern specially drafted to fit them perfectly. Next they will learn about Embroidery Machines and how to create a design that can be transferred from the computer to the embroidery machine. They will select colors for their design and then embroider it onto their garment. Finally, they will learn skills on a serger or overlock machine with training in coverlock machines also. They will complete their garment and wear it proudly to their graduation ceremony.
